Know Your Best Position

Exodus 17:10-11 — “So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.”‬‬

Playing golf you learn that it's all about positioning. You don't have to hit the ball the farthest, you don't even have to hit the ball the straightest, but what you do have to do is put yourself in the best position every shot. Unfortunately it takes a lifetime for most people to figure that out!

Following God isn't all too different. We like to convince ourselves of who we are, or what we should be doing. When in reality, God is whispering to us what our best position really is. During the battle in Exodus 17 Moses understood his best position was on top of the hill praying. Most of the time that is where God wants us. We want to be like Joshua in the middle of the fight, but God wants us with our hands held  high asking Him to fight our battles!
