You Can Have Everything and Still Have Nothing
1 Corinthians 13:3 — “If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
The above title was the first point of Gage's sermon this past Sunday. It's quite possible that some of you reading this devotional may have even given him a hearty "amen" when he proclaimed it.
Yet, I wonder how many of us really believe this to be true? When I say believe, I mean believe in the way that it leads us to do something about it.
Gage elaborated on his first point by saying the only way to have anything is to have the love of Jesus. You can be the smartest guy in the room, and you can even do all the right things, but if you don't have love as the motive then you really have nothing!
Love people even when it's not the thing you want to do. Trust that God will do something with it, and it will be much bigger than you can imagine!
